Support Eva Gabrielsson

http://www.supporteva.com

"The Supporteva campaign has managed to collect close to 150 000 NOK through donations made from all over the world. The campaign started on April 22nd, 2009 and was discontinued as of January 10th, 2011.

Eva Gabrielsson published her own book in mid-January 2011, a great accomplishment through what must have been a difficult time since Stieg Larsson's death.

Although Supporteva is now discontinuing monetary donations, we still appreciate greetings and comments to Eva through the guestbook.

Kind regards,

• We would like to support Eva Gabrielsson, who was the life partner of the late author, Stieg Larsson.
• Eva Gabrielsson lived with Stieg Larsson for 30 years (they worked together for 32 years).
Unfortunately, Stieg Larsson had not written a valid will before he died in 2004. So Eva Gabrielsson was left bereft, …"

I like words too

"When copywriter Robert Pirosh landed in Hollywood in 1934, eager to become a screenwriter, he wrote and sent the following letter to all the directors, producers, and studio executives he could think of. The approach worked, and after securing three interviews he took a job as a junior writer with MGM. (Source: Dear Wit.)

Dear Sir:
I like words. I like fat buttery words, such as ooze, turpitude, glutinous, toady. I like solemn, angular, creaky words, such as straitlaced, cantankerous, pecunious, valedictory. I like spurious, black-is-white words, such as mortician, liquidate, tonsorial, demi-monde. I like suave "V" words, such as Svengali, svelte, bravura, verve. I like crunchy, brittle, crackly words, such as splinter, grapple, jostle, crusty. I like sullen, crabbed, scowling words, such as skulk, glower, scabby, churl. I like Oh-Heavens, my-gracious, land's-sake words, such as tricksy, tucker, genteel, horrid. I like elegant, flowery words, such as estivate, peregrinate, elysium, halcyon. I like wormy, squirmy, mealy words, such as crawl, blubber, squeal, drip. I like sniggly, chuckling words, such as cowlick, gurgle, bubble and burp.

I like the word screenwriter better than copywriter, so I decided to quit my job in a New York advertising agency and try my luck in Hollywood, but before taking the plunge I went to Europe for a year of study, contemplation and horsing around.

I have just returned and I still like words. May I have a few with you?"

Spring!

If I hadn't walked outside, I just might have a hard time believing this temperature.

I hate the effects of climate change, and can't help but wonder how our farmers will manage this year. However, as one who prefers heat over cold, it's tough for me not to enjoy this warmth while it lasts.

To market, to market

To just look around …

But I'm sure that somewhere, there'd be pigs to be found …
